Instructing a company to work in your home or rental property can be a daunting task.

At Aspire Trade Services, we always aim to make the job as straight forward for you as possible.

On this page we have listed a number of questions we regularly get asked before certain projects.

General FAQs

Are quotes free?

We offer free quotes for bathroom and boiler installations, for smaller jobs like radiator installations, we charge an upfront survey fee of £45 inc. VAT. This is deductible from an accepted quote. 

For plumbing, heating and boiler repair works, we are unable to offer a free quote for this work, as most of these issues can be resolved with an engineer on the first attendance visit.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following: 

  1. Credit card (including American express) 
  2. Cash 
  3. BACS (bank transfer) 

Can I come into your showroom without an appointment?

Yes, we are always happy to have a wee chat, for bathroom consultations we normally ask that these are booked in advance as they can last up to 90 minutes.

What plumbing services do you offer?

We offer a wide range of plumbing services in the Edinburgh area. Some of the tasks we can complete for you include fixing dripping taps. Installing hot water cylinders. Installing new toilets and sinks. Fixing burst pipes. Putting in a new electric shower. Unblocking drains and sinks. General plumbing maintenance and repairs. Fixing or installing hot and cold water tanks. Replacing taps and sink fittings. As well as a range of much more plumbing related services.

Boiler Installation FAQs

How long does a boiler installation take?

Normally it can be done in 1 day, but sometimes it may take 2 days.

How long will my water be off for?

No more than an hour, and we will let you know when it is going to happen.

Does my electricity need to be turned off?

Normally we can do the job without turning the power off, but if we do it would be for no more than an hour, and we would let you know when it is going to happen.

Will I have heating and hot water?

When your boiler is being installed, you won’t have heating and hot water for the duration of the installation.

Do you need access to my gas metre?

Yes, we need clear access to the gas metre.

Do you need access to my radiators?

Yes, we need access to the top and bottom of all the radiators in the property.

Will you need access to my garden?

If the flue for the boiler comes out this way, then we may need access to the garden.

Do I need to stay at home all day?

Not at all, you can leave the engineers to it, we just need to show you how to work it all at the end of the day.

I have my own boiler, can you install it?

No, we only offer a fully supply and installation service.

Bathroom Installation FAQs

Will I need to move out?

No, most customers still stay in the property whilst the works are being done.

Can I still use the toilet?

Yes, we can leave a temporary toilet in place.

Can I still use the washing facilities?

These will be out of action for the duration of the bathroom installation.

Do you do partial repairs to bathrooms?

No, we only carry out full bathroom refurbishments, and partial works like removing tiled fixtures we don’t do.

Do you take the rubbish away?

Yes, we take care of all the rubbish and recycling.

Do I need to be in the property for the works?

No, we just need someone to be at the property at the end of the job to do a final handover.

I have my own bathroom items, can you install them?

No, we only offer a full supply and installation service.

I want you to install my bathroom, but I will do the tiling?

Unfortunately, we only offer a full project-managed supply and installation service with our own in-house professionals.
